Hedwin is the artist behind Makeup by Hedwin, a brand built on resilience, discipline and a deep commitment to mastering the craft of beauty.
Born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, her journey into makeup was not traditional. After high school, she studied Psychology through UNISA while working in the restaurant industry, balancing long days with an evolving passion for makeup. With no access to formal training, she turned to YouTube as her primary teacher, studying makeup with intention and consistency.
In 2020, after her time at beauty school was cut short, she turned to fully commit to teaching herself.
Through daily practice and participating in the “21 Days for Kay” challenge, she developed not only her skills, but the discipline and resilience that would define her journey.
In 2021, Makeup by Hedwin was officially launched.
What began with a few clients and a vision for stability grew into a defining career. A pivotal investment into her craft in 2023 elevated her artistry particularly her signature approach to skin and marked a turning point. Today, Hedwin leads a growing team of artists and is known for refined, skin-like glam, with a strong focus on bridal beauty.
Her story is a reflection of persistence. Proof that with consistency, courage, and belief, passion can become purpose.
